WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, Ohio (AFLCMC) – Registration is open now for the 2022 AFLCMC Product Support Manager Forum, which aims to generate conversations on improving Air Force readiness and operational effectiveness.

Lansen Conley, Director of the AFLCMC Logistics Directorate, Dr. Michael Bayer, Defense Acquisition University, and Jeff Hess, Product Support Manager within the ISR/SOF Directorate at Robins AFB, Georgia, joined on a recent episode of AFLCMC’s Leadership Log podcast to talk about the upcoming PSM Forum.

The forum will be held at Wright-Patterson AFB on June 21-23 and will also include a virtual attendance option.  The theme is Maximizing PSM Effectiveness Through Strategic, Functional, and Cross-Center Engagement.

“We have found these forums very valuable to help our product support managers who are key logistics and product support leaders in program offices to connect and get perspectives from senior leadership,” Conley said.

Each of the three days have daily focus areas: Day 1 is a Strategic Focus; Day 2 is a Cross-Center Focus and Day 3 is a Cross-Functional Focus.  DAU will help facilitate the event as they have for previous PSM Forums.

“Everyone knows us from the teaching aspect of our mission,” Bayer said.  “We also have in our charter to do things that we call mission assistance where we actually get to provide real time assistance to programs or our customers out in the field, such as the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center.”

Hess, who has attended the previous editions of the forum, offered a user’s perspective.

“This forum actually helps us develop our toolbox,” Hess said.  “This forum gives us three days to interact and work within our Center and within AFMC so we can actually learn from each other and focus strictly on the Air Force.”

Scheduled speakers include:

- Lt Gen Clinton S. Hinote, Deputy Chief of Staff for Air Force Futures
- Steven Morani, OSD A&S
- Angela Tymofichuk, SAF/AQD
- Lt Gen Shaun Q. Morris, AFLCMC commander
- Kathryn Sowers, HQ AFMC/A5/8/9

There will also be a Program Executive Officer panel discussion and a Senior Materiel Leader panel along with presentations from the Rapid Sustainment Office and Air Force Research Laboratory.
