AFMC commander sews stitch in National 9/11 Flag

Air Force Materiel Commander Gen. Donald Hoffman sews a stitch into the National 9/11 Flag during a ceremony at the National Museum of the U,S. Air Force prior to the AFMC Freedom's Call Tattoo June 24, 2011. The flag was flying near the World Trade Center in New York City on Sept. 11, 2001, and was all but destoryed by the terrorist attacks. It is being stitched back togehter while on a 50-state tour. Stitches are added by military members, veterans, first responders and a vareity of community service heroes. The Ohio patch to the flag came from a flag flown outside AFMC Headquarters. Sponsored by the New York Says Thank You Foundation, the flag will eventually be displayed at the National 9/11 Museum to be built at the World Trade Center site. Freedom's Call Tattoo 2010 photo

Spectators from last year's Air Force Materiel Command Freedom's Call Tattoo gather for stage events, music and a variety of other entertainment. This year's Tattoo will include musical entertainment and will commemorate Korean War veterans as part of the event's 'Reflections on 60 Years' theme. Tattoo Tech Exhibit F-35

The F-35 pilot training aid is one of the newest additions to the technology exhibit at Air Force Materiel Command's Freedom's Call Tatoo. The hands-on laptop computer, complete with throttle and stick functions and goggles, allows student pilots to “fly” while looking at an accurate display of what is actually seen in cockpit. Tattoo is free, and open to the public. Activities begin at 5 p.m. on the grounds of the National Museum of the United States Air Force.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AFMCNS) -- Country music superstar Aaron Tippin, on stage with two members of the Stemwinders, his backup band, shows off a bicycle he built in under three minutes while performing in concert at the Clark State Community College Performing Arts Center on March 28. Building bicycles is a staple at Mr. Tippin's concerts. To date, he has built and donated 800 bikes.
