Two P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft assigned to Patrol Squadron (VP) 4 are parked on the apron of Keflavik Air Base, Jan. 2, 2020. The squadron was conducting operations jointly with allied and interagency partners in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa. The construction work recently awarded by the Air Force Civil Engineer Center will provide critical infrastructure for continued air missions and joint military training with NATO in the North Atlantic region.
