Judith Freer, 76th Maintenance Support Squadron senior materials engineering technician, reviews data fed from the nearby MIRA-X scanning electron microscope. The 125-cubic-foot chamber makes it the largest SEM in the world and allows parts to be scanned whole instead of cutting them up, saving thousands of dollars when a new part is found to be service-able and can meet Tinker’s strict requirements.
