WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – After serving five years as the Director of Personnel for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center headquartered here, Eric Dilworth has been selected for the Senior Executive Service and is heading to Washington, D.C., this month to take a new position with the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Division as Director of Human Resources.

During his tenure at AFLCMC, Dilworth helped the center successfully transition to the new pay system AcqDemo.

In addition he led efforts to reduce hiring timelines, and established a new hiring model for the Center.

Within the last year alone his team planned and coordinated eight large scale hiring events across the country in which the recruitment, interviewing, employment offer, compensation negotiation, and finger printing of future employees occurred all in one day.  From these events 490 employees were hired for crucial positions.

“Eric has had such a tremendous, positive impact to the AFLCMC mission during his time hire,” said Kathy Watern, AFLCMC Executive Director. “He was instrumental in the Center’s roll out of the new AcqDemo program; proving guidance, clarifying new processes, etc., for approximately 5,000 AFLCMC employees. In addition, his team’s efforts to bring new civilian employees on board have been groundbreaking and is helping us fill critical talent management gaps. Eric has made a difference for our workforce and will be greatly missed. We wish him the best in his new position.”

Dilworth began his federal service in 1989 as a PALACE Acquire Personnel Management intern at Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark., and has served in Personnel positions at various locations including Scott Air Force Base, Ramstein Air Base, Yokota Air Base, and Aviano Air Base.

“Leading as the Director of Personnel for AFLCMC has been the highlight of my career,” said Dilworth. I’m thankful for the opportunity to have served with such a great HR team and leaders across AFLCMC.”

In his new position, Dilworth will support the Rural Development Division’s mission of improving the economy and quality of life in rural America.
