Tinker Frontlines: Meet Brent Burgess

Brent Burgess, director of the 72nd Logistics Readiness Squadron, has 20 years of federal service.

Burgess is from Oklahoma City and enjoys drinking coffee, watching documentaries and taking naps.

The 72nd LRS provides supply, transportation, readiness, fuels, precision measuring equipment and traffic management services to 40 associate units representing five major commands, the Navy’s Strategic Communications Wing One and the Air Force Sustainment Center. It’s a big job, but Burgess said his favorite part is “the opportunity to work with the world’s greatest teammates, directly supporting the warfighter, day-in and day-out.”

The coronavirus pandemic has called on the LRS to do what they do better than anyone. “Over the last two months, we have procured around 70,000 cloth masks, 5,000 N95 masks and 50,000 gloves, gowns and goggles for the Team Tinker men and women on the front lines,” Burgess said. “As additional needs are identified, we stand ready to ensure mission success!”
