DAYTON, Ohio -- Visitors are invited to take a step back in time to the earliest years of aerial combat at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force’s World War I Dawn Patrol Rendezvous, Oct. 7 and 8. Sights, sounds and activities for the whole family will take place throughout the museum complex as we look back to WWI and America’s early air superiority.
Aerial events, WWI living history reenactors in a war encampment area, radio-controlled model aircraft, antique cars, educational activities, workshops and a speaker series frame an exciting weekend of fly-ins from replica WWI aircraft.
Nearly two dozen WWI replica aircraft will be on display for the Dawn Patrol Rendezvous and many will be flying above the museum grounds throughout the two-day event. The aircraft include famous designs by Nieuport, Fokker, Sopwith, Bristol, Hymer, Eberhart and Siemens Schuckert.
In addition to WWI era aircraft, vintage automobiles from Ford, Overland, Davis and Oakland are scheduled to be on display.

Gates will be open each day from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
Visitors may reach the event site through the main museum gate on Springfield Street and follow the signs to the event parking area on historic Wright Field.
The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, is the world’s largest military aviation museum.
