LYNDON K. MCKOWN

Dr. Lyndon K. McKown, a member of the Department of Defense Senior Executive Service, is the Deputy Director of Logistics, Civil Engineering, Force Protection and Nuclear Integration, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.  Dr. McKown develops and directs policy for depot overhaul, repair and modification of Air Force weapon systems, as well as munitions, supply, logistics plans, transportation and packaging methods and logistics data systems. Dr. McKown plans and coordinates product support and acquisition logistics for all fielded and emerging Air Force weapon systems, as well as establishes guidance for Air Force retail and wholesale supply chain management of spare parts valued at more than $5.8 billion.

Prior to becoming a member of the Senior Executive Service, Dr. McKown began his Air Force career in 1984 after receiving his commission through the Air Force Officer Training School program. He served in a variety of aircraft maintenance, munitions, and logistics positions at the field, MAJCOM and headquarters levels before retiring from the Air Force and transitioning to federal service in 2005.
