Colonel Keven P. Coyle serves as the Director, Air, Space and Cyberspace Operations, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He is responsible for leading the operationalization of AFMC, shaping the workforce and for stewarding the infrastructure to develop, test, field and sustain integrated war-winning capabilities at the speed of relevance and warfighter requirements. He is also responsible for AFMC’s policy and resource allocation for test and cyber operations, flight management, airfield services, weather services and command and control operations.
Col. Coyle was commissioned in 1998 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah and subsequently graduated top of his class in Undergraduate Air Battle Manager Training at Tyndall AFB in 1999. He graduated from the USAF Weapons School Nellis AFB, Nevada in 2004 and then returned as an instructor at the school in 2006 where he served as the Director of Staff.
Col. Coyle graduated with recognition from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in 2010. He then served in the Aviation Tactics Evaluation Group at Joint Special Operations Command as a Battle Captain, Operations Officer, and Joint Special Operations Air Detachment Commander during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM in 2011. Col. Coyle has commanded at the detachment, squadron, and wing levels. Most recently he was the Wing Commander of the 552 Air Control Wing, Tinker AFB. Oklahoma from 2021-2023. Prior to his current assignment, Col. Coyle was the Chief, Commander’s Initiatives Group and Special Assistant to the Commander of U.S. Forces Korea, Combined Forces Command, and United Nations Command responsible for 28,500 servicemembers, U.S. DOD civilians, and families living in South Korea.
Col. Coyle is a Master Air Battle Manager with more than 1,800 hours in the E-3B/C/G, including 300 combat and combat support hours. He has supported numerous contingency operations including Operations NORTHERN WATCH, SOUTHERN WATCH, NOBLE EAGLE, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, FREEDOM SENTINEL as well as multiple deployments in support of counter-terrorism operations worldwide.
