The Air Force Marathon half-marathon and 5K sold out last week.

Several of the Air Force Marathon charity partners have half-marathon slots available for interested runners. The full marathon is more than 80 percent full and organizers anticipate filling the rest of the slots within the next couple of weeks.

"Our price for the full increases on June 2," said Rob Aguiar, the race director.

The Air Force Marathon organizers strongly urge runners to register as early as possible to make sure they have a spot in the race.

"We constantly receive phone calls from people who want into our race after we close-out," Aguiar said. "I always, always warn people to register early."

The price for the full is currently $95 and will increase to $105 June 2.

Volunteer registration opened on May 1 and volunteers can register at www.usafmarathon.com.

The Air Force Marathon, presented by Northrop Grumman, USAA and Boeing, will be held Sept. 21 at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Participants start and finish at the National Air Force Museum, and spectators are welcome at the museum or in nearby downtown Fairborn.
