Hill AFB moves to HPCON Bravo

  • Published
  • 75th Air Base Wing Public Affairs

Hill Air Force Base has been placed in Health Protection Condition (HPCON) Bravo effective immediately and the Installation Commander is declaring a Public Health Emergency.

Although there are zero confirmed cases of coronavirus on the base, these measures keep the installation consistent with the actions of Davis and Weber-Morgan counties.  Both counties declared a public emergency last night. The HPCON Bravo declaration will have minimal impact on the base's current posture, because the installation has already enacted a large portion of the Bravo measures.

Health Protection Condition Bravo restricts movement of personnel on the installation as necessary, and imposes strict hygiene (no handshaking, wiping of common use items), self-isolation if exposed, and avoidance of risk areas.

Hill is taking the necessary steps and precautions to ensure the health and safety of our community, as well as safeguard mission capabilities and ensure readiness.

All Hill personnel are required to follow the prevention measures already in place:

  • Consistent handwashing  (at a minimum when arriving and leaving work and home, after using the bathroom and before eating)
  • Consistent cleaning of regularly touched surfaces (doorknobs, railings, and desk/work area when arriving and leaving)
  • Avoidance of face touching
  • No handshakes or hugging
  • Social distancing: a minimum of 6 feet between individuals
  • Minimize gatherings in excess of 10 people
