Editor's Note: The “Team Hill Frontlines" series is a recurring feature that puts the spotlight on some of the civilian and military Airmen on the "frontlines" supporting our mission, people and families during the COVID-19 crisis.
Constantino “Gus” Zapien us a F-16/F-22 section chief for DLA Aviation at Ogden. He oversees 10 employees, as well as one of the largest footprints and foot traffic areas in DLA Aviation. He said he appreciates always taking care of his employees and the mission. Outside of work, he enjoys bicycling, walking and spending time with his spouse.
Gus’s experience working on the COVID-19 frontlines:
“To ensure safety to the maximum extent possible, I clean and disinfect the common use areas such as lectrievers, flat surfaces, door knobs, common break areas and restrooms. With both material management and storage and distribution personnel in my areas, I also ensure the six-foot distancing rules are adhered in our workspaces. I also implemented strict parts pick-up and DIFM/DOTM procedures to maintain positive control and distancing. I have also identified and procured urgently needed cleaning supplies, including getting masks and distributing to DLA’s employees. I’m most proud of keeping my customers informed of parts deliveries and pick-up locations during this pandemic.”
Gus, Team Hill thanks you for your service! We appreciate you!
