HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. In an effort to inform Hanscom-area acquisition professionals about test efforts and capabilities, the 96th Cyberspace Test Group, Detachment 1, located here, will host a virtual test workshop June 8 at 1 p.m.

The event is part of a quarterly series of workshops offered by the detachment, each with a different theme. This quarter’s theme is Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence systems testing.

“As the underlying technologies inherent in modern weapons and communications systems become more advanced, the manner in which those systems are tested must advance in kind,” said Capt. John Davis, test engineer, 96th CTG, Det. 1. “Staying current on all of the latest test capabilities, resources, and initiatives is vital for Hanscom test and program managers to maintain the edge in today’s continuously evolving acquisition environment.”

Stephanie Thiele of the 96th will kick off the event by addressing the importance of C4I testing. Maj. Andrew Rexford, 46th Test Squadron, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, will discuss data science and artificial and machine learning, and Jim Conrad, lead spectrum manager for Hanscom, will provide details on spectrum management in acquisition programs. The event will also include a 96th CTG commander’s panel discussion and an address from Col. Shane Louis, senior materiel leader, Aerial Networks Division.

All attendees must RSVP to participate. Slots are only available for military members and Department of Defense civilian employees and contractors.

On the day of the workshop, attendees must log into Microsoft Teams CHES and access the meeting either via their calendar or the “HAFB 2nd Qtr 2021 Test Workshop” Team channel.

The event is expected to conclude by 5 p.m.
