HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – To inform the acquisition workforce about test efforts and capabilities, the 96th Cyberspace Test Group, Detachment 1 will host a virtual test workshop Sept. 29 beginning at 1 p.m.

The event is part of a quarterly series of workshops offered by the detachment, each with a different theme. This quarter’s theme is “Software Testing in the Digital Test and Evaluation Revolution.”

“The software pathway has given life to a new frontier in Department of Defense acquisitions, begging many new questions about where developmental and operational testing should begin, end, and how it is executed,” said Capt. John Davis, test engineer, 96th CTG, Det. 1.

With the emergence of Agile DevSecOps environments across the DOD, this workshop seeks to provide best practices for innovation, requirements management, customer and stakeholder feedback, and integration of a wide array of new tools and technologies, he said.

“As software development and testing continues to mature and evolve, we hope everyone joins us in sharing resources and vital lessons learned so that we might together enable the warfighters we serve with what they deserve, which is the very best.”

Lt. Col. Javier Escobar of the 96th will provide opening remarks and Brig. Gen. Scott Cain, commander, 96th Test Wing, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, will provide a senior leader vector.

Danny Holtzman, director of Cyberspace Innovation at Hanscom, will provide an overview of the authority to operate process and Jacque Torson and Kristy Maconi, of Kessel Run and the 45th Test Squadron respectively, will present agile test strategies and the latest on continuous integration and delivery testing. Lt. Col. Scott Rinella, the commander of the 45th, will provide a unit capabilities brief.

All attendees must RSVP to participate. Slots are only available for military members and Department of Defense civilian employees and contractors.

On the day of the workshop, attendees must log into Microsoft Teams CHES and access the meeting either via their calendar or the “HAFB 3rd Qtr 2021Test Workshop” Team channel.

The event is expected to conclude by 5 p.m.
