MAXWELL AFB-GUNTER ANNEX, Ala. -- In a bid to continue elevating user experience throughout the Air Force, the Business and Enterprise Systems Product Innovation (BESPIN) team’s Design Studio awarded two contracts with two Air Force program offices: Reliability and Maintainability Information System (REMIS) and Weather Applications Rapid Production (WARP) Speed.

REMIS, headquartered at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, and WARPspeed, located at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, will work with BESPIN design experts to create design solutions for their respective needs.

REMIS provides around-the-clock operational authoritative information on all Air Force weapon systems, including inventory, Chief Financial Officer reporting, availability, reliability, maintainability, trend analysis, failure prediction, status utilization, time compliance, technical orders, and configuration status of Air Force weapons systems worldwide. It is the core financial system for cost accounting and depreciation of all Air Force weapons systems and missiles, including intercontinental ballistic missiles.

The scope of the work to be completed for REMIS includes website modernization focusing on simplifying and streamlining the user experience. Additionally, BESPIN will focus on process improvements around the flow and organization of data.

WARPspeed is an Air Force software factory hosted in the cloud supporting the Air Force’s weather and operations communities. The program includes six application teams tasked with building multiple capabilities, including forecasted weather visualizations, resource protection tools, and climate products.

WARPspeed highlighted a need to build a robust and scalable design solution that incorporates features to enhance the user experience for all users regardless of skill level. BESPIN’s Design Studio will help refine WARPspeed’s culture of integrating design early in the software development process.

“Both of these program offices provide essential services within the Air Force, and we’re excited to have this opportunity to work on two projects that will have far-reaching impacts,” said Capt. Arthur Rose, BESPIN’s Enterprise Services Program Manager.

The needs of REMIS and WARPspeed align perfectly with BESPIN’s world-class Design Studio, which provides services to help its customers understand and simplify complex problems requiring modern technological solutions. The Design Studio teams build and deliver high- quality, user-centered products that empower fellow Airmen to achieve mission success. BESPIN’s Design Studio’s mission is to: Bring consistency to Air Force software, help product teams ship better products faster, and partner with Airmen to teach them design skills on the job.

The BESPIN Design Studio makes the most perplexing program feel simple with our services. Offerings include tailored design consulting, design and product education, and design and research tooling.
