On Jan. 28, 2025, Gen. Duke Z. Richardson, Air Force Materiel Command commander, relieved Brig. Gen. Erik Quigley, Director and Program Executive Officer, Bombers Directorate, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, from his position of leadership, due to a loss of confidence in his ability to lead, following an internal investigation which revealed inappropriate personal relationships.

“The Director and PEO position leads a team executing the modernization and sustainment of the Air Force’s bomber portfolio and is vitally important to the defense of the nation,” Richardson said.  “Airmen of all ranks must be held accountable for their actions.”

Joseph A. Peloquin, currently Air Force Deputy PEO for Bombers, has been named interim Director and PEO.
