Ms. Kay Rice and her search and rescue-trained Labrador Retriever, Jazz, stretch their legs Jan. 14, 2010 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base while awaiting airlift to Haiti. The canine team are members of Ohio Task Force One, an urban search and rescue unit ready to provide humanitarian and disaster relief support following the recent earthquake. The team of about 80 first-responders from across Ohio and northern Kentucky is staged to deploy from the base to Port au Prince. The team has a total of six dogs deploying for this mission.
