Marathon milestone

Having just completed the 11th annual U.S. Air Force Marathon's half-marathon race Sept. 15, Barbara Westgate, Air Force Materiel Command executive director, places a finisher's medal around her daughter, Beth Smith. In turn, Ms. Smith awarded her mother with her own medal. Mrs. Westgate dedicated herself to a 42-week program to train specifically for the race.
