WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio
WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio— Barbara A. Westgate represents Air Force Materiel Command during the signing of a commitment agreement between AFMC and AFGE Council 214 to improve health and safety initiatives within the command. Mrs. Westgate, AFMC executive director, and Scott Blanch, AFGE Council 214 president, signed the document here Oct. 19. The agreement formalizes a commitment to achieve safety and health excellence through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Voluntary Protection Program. “The (agreement) is about everyone,” said Mrs. Westgate. “How can we not do something that makes such great sense?” The agreement paves the way for management at five AFMC bases to get their local commitment agreements with the unions signed. The five bases are Hanscom AFB, Mass., Hill AFB, Utah, Robins AFB, Ga., Tinker AFB, Okla., and Wright-Patterson AFB. (Air Force photo by William Pugh)
