AFMC commander visits wing at N.Y. Guard Base
                Senior Master Sgt. Dennis Pitcher briefs Gen. Ellen M. Pawlikowski, Air Force Materiel Command commander, and New York Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul on the C-5M interior refurbishment mission Oct. 5 at Stewart Air National Guard Base, N.Y. The two leaders met with Airmen and observed operations at the New York Air National Guard's 105th Airlift Wing. A total of 52 C-5 aircraft are being converted to the C-5M Super Galaxy configuration which includes avionics upgrades, new engines and other performance and reliability enhancements. The last step is a complete 40-day refurbishment of the aircraft interior performed by Total Force Airmen at Stewart. Pitcher is superintendent of C-5M refurb operations with the 105th AW.
