C3I&N manages exponential network growth
By taking the pulse of the Air Force network, Acquisition personnel at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., hope to improve security, reduce maintenance costs and increase overall capacity. Current efforts have led to replacing legacy megabyte-sized, single-lane connections with multiple-gigabyte, highway-sized connection at two test locations. In addition to providing a tenfold traffic increase, the systems are also redundant, which achieves “dual path resiliency.” (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Daniel Garcia)
