David Rickards, 381st Training Group Commander, is ready to put a freshly cooked pizza on a serving station in the newly reopened The Beachcombers dining facility at Vandenberg AFB, California, Aug. 6, 2020. Beachcombers, which caters to Air Education and Training Command students and cadre, was given a $650,000 renovation and upgrade to bring it in line with the Air Force’s Food 2.0 style of service with “finish in front” service stations, technology advancements and large, robust self-serve breakfast yogurt, salad bar and “grab & go” meal and snack options.
