Retired B-1B arrives in Wichita to create a digital twin
Contract crews along with Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office deputies control traffic as a B-1B Lancer makes a tight turn at 47th Street South and Greenwich Road in Wichita, Kansas, Jan. 27, 2024. The bomber was bound from Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, to Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research to be used in a research partnership with WSU and the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center. The bomber will be used to create a digital twin, which will allow for greater study and potential improvements of the B-1 fleet. (Courtesy Photo)
