AFIMSC task force helps bases recover from hurricanes Helene, Milton
Members of the 823rd RED HORSE Squadron secure tarps on a damaged facility at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, following Hurricane Helene, Sept. 28, 2024. The installation sustained widespread facility and infrastructure damage, flooding, massive amounts of debris and power outages from the category four hurricane. TFAMS deployed specialized teams with civil engineering, financial management and contracting capabilities to the base to conduct initial damage assessments and emergency repair work, as well as secure the necessary resources and funding needed to get the base operational and back in the fight.
