In 2021, Master Sgt. Lamar Valentina, 313th Recruiting Squadron, enlisted accessions flight chief, was able to attend his graduation ceremony in-person at Arizona State University, Phoenix, AZ. Valentina was diagnosed with renal medullary carcinoma, a rare kidney cancer, in 2019. Since then, he has stepped into the public eye as a speaker and has continued to advocate for Airmen.
